DJ IREM$ AKA “Captain IREM$ The DJ” began to showcase his talent in various venues across the globe. He played at numerous mainstream stages with artists like Yemi Alade, P-Square, Kizz Daniel, Wizkid, DJ Tunez, Burna Boy, Runtown, Falz, 2Face, Dammy Krane etc and making sure that his name and music were being heard by as many people as possible. He was rapidly noted for the unique style that he brought to the traditional Afrohouse DJ scene, and his popularity began to grow.
As his confidence grew and his style developed in Afrohouse Music, he soon saw a loyal following begin to grow and he also became a popular online DJ reaching millions of listeners. His talent with a variety of musical genres only added to his appeal, and his unique choice of sound with a twist started to find an appreciative audience. According to him music is in the family as his dad, brother and his sister also sing at Church. He decided to become a DJ in 2008 because of his ears for good music. He explained that some DJ’s only play what other DJs play, but he discovers the music for other DJs to Shazam.
He also developed an affinity with Nigeria, Malaysia & Europe having traveled there frequently as a student and DJ. He picked up a degree in Business Information System while in Malaysia. Besides being a DJ, he is an FAA Licensed pilot and very passionate about flying which also inspired his travel to the United States in 2011 where he received his pilot’s license and Aviation Science Degree at Utah Valley University.
