Minneapolis based SCRNS, the project of Howler Bassist Max Petrek, and ballerina-turned-vocalist Erin Ross is a hot mess of blistering trap-rap production and bright psychedelic pop. Drawing from a shared obsession of Billboard Rap, R’n'B and EDM, they create blurred impressions of modern “Hits” using the low rent software fruity loops.

Constantly looking back to the soft focus feel of 90′s heroes Aphex Twin and Joedci, their aesthetics distort modern pop music into an ethereal and wildly original trip. With lyrics plagiarized from reality television and a playful teenage vocal style, immersing yourself in SCRNS is akin to listening Ryan Seacrest countdown from three rooms away after dropping that last tab you should not have taken….
