Cryogeyser

Cryogeyser–Shawn Marom (guitar/vocals), Zach CapittiFenton (drums), and Samson Klitsner (bass)–have shared their new single “Sorry.” Produced by CapittiFenton, the track premiered via FLOOD Magazine and sees the Los Angeles-based band exploring grittier, noisier territory while retaining the soaring, blissful melodies found throughout their discography. “Sorry” is not only Cryogeyser’s first release with CapittiFenton and Klitsner as members, but also the band’s first self-produced work since their 2019 debut LP, Glitch (produced by former member Jeremy McLennan). Arriving alongside a Jaxon Whittington-directed video, the song’s leveled up production is a true crystallization of the band’s sound–and is just the beginning of more new music to come.

"’Sorry’ is the song that plays at the pool party your ex is at. The rage and discomfort become an internal war, asking yourself, ‘Did I do the best I could? Could I have done it differently?’” explains Marom. “‘Sorry’ is about not being sorry. It’s a tongue in cheek homage to the intricacies of relationships and communication, especially in conflict. ‘Sorry’ reminds you to be yourself, forgive yourself, and embrace yourself. Welcome change but never change. It also touches on the expectations we put on others, ourselves, and our artistic practices. Wondering if the failure or rejection could ever be avoided. If we knew then, what we know now, things would be much different than this."

Cryogeyser has been on a steady rise since the release of Glitch, touring and playing shows with beloved acts such as Wednesday, Horse Jumper of Love, Squirrel Flower, Citizen, Narrow Head, Pond, and more. With three full-lengths under their belt–including the most recent double/deluxe album timetetheredtogether/Love Is Land–the band has garnered a sizable following with 132.6k monthly listeners on Spotify, and tracks “Leach,” “Angry,” and “Thin” earning millions of plays. “Sorry” also arrives on the heels of a June headlining show at Brooklyn, NY’s Elsewhere (Rooftop).
