The Bad Companions are a long standing (and popular!) Minneapolis based roots-rock quartet. We’re two guitars, stand-up bass and drums, with great vocals, horns on special occasions, a strong original catalog and a set list as long as your arm drawn from the swingin’ heyday of American rock-a-billy, R&B, country and blues. We’ve been featured on NPR’s ‘Prairie Home Companion’, have a couple national television appearances under our belt and have graced the radio airwaves of this great state from Duluth to Le Seuer. We’ve entertained folks everywhere from your corner bar to county fairs, car shows and music festivals around the Midwest with a dynamic live show that’s ear, dance and family friendly.
Band founder Alan Subola is an award winning guitarist and accomplished songwriter, who has received glowing reviews for his work from around the globe in magazines like the UK’s highly respected MOJO. The band is top-flight, with players drawn from some of the best roots bands in the Twin Cities from the last few years: the renowned Dan Gaarder (Trailer Trash, Roe Family) on guitar, Hayden Grooms (The Hillions) on skins and W.E. Keefe (Vibro Champs, etc...) slappin’ the doghouse. Singer and guitarist Alan Subola is a Vibro Champs vet as well and can be found on a stage somewhere in the Cities on any given night.
