The First Permanent L Series in-venue installation

First Avenue, the independent venue and concert promoter in Minnesota, is excited to announce the first permanent in-venue installation of the L-Acoustics L Series system in the Americas. First Avenue’s innovative, concert-grade L Series sound system is the pinnacle of line source technology. The newly launched L Series ushers in ultimate power, control, and consistency in line array design.

An integral, iconic part of the live music landscape, First Avenue ranks among the top places to see music in the U.S. Operating for decades with a good sound system, the legendary venue now steps up to a concert-grade sound system from L-Acoustics. Artists and audiences at First Avenue will enjoy the world’s most cutting-edge audio, the first of its kind in North America. Created by L-Acoustics, the same company that supplies sound for over half of the world’s biggest festivals and for artists like Depeche Mode and Billie Eilish on tour, First Avenue, one of America’s most celebrated venues, now features the world’s best audio technology.

“When it came time to update our sound system, we knew we wanted to reinvest in First Avenue in an extraordinary way,” says First Avenue owner, Dayna Frank. “This system is best in class and will elevate what is already a great concert experience at First Avenue to something other-worldly for performers and fans.”

“First Avenue is an essential venue in Minneapolis, earning its place by hosting an array of diverse artists and iconic shows. We are very excited that this landmark venue has chosen to install the first L Series in the Americas,” says BJ Shaver, Director of Sales, Americas at L-Acoustics. “This new sound system will enable First Avenue to continue bringing exceptional audio quality to the music community for decades to come.”

The L-Acoustics L Series system was deployed and installed by Allied Productions, and will debut at First Avenue for The Ike Reilly Assassination — 20th Thanksgiving Eve Show with The Shackletons and The Belfast Cowboys on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Following that event, fans can expect to hear the new L-Acoustics L Series at all First Avenue events. Minnesota artists will immediately benefit, as First Avenue hosts a sold-out Atmosphere concert on November 24, along with a Night Moves show on November 25.

“I’m very excited for First Avenue to be the first venue in North America to have the new L2 system from L Acoustics permanently installed, “says First Avenue’s lead sound engineer, Alex Johnson. “With this state-of-the-art PA we will be able to provide an elevated sonic experience for musicians, guest engineers, and most importantly the audience. Featuring L Acoustic’s most advanced speaker cabinets, amplifiers, and processing, First Avenue is about to sound better than it ever has been. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

The new audio system at First Avenue is the most advanced in the world, ensuring both performers and fans the clearest, most powerful sound everywhere within the venue.

An opportunity for press to experience the L Series system in person will be held at the Angel Olsen concert on Wednesday, November 29. For press looking to attend a pre-concert event and the show, please send an inquiry at your earliest convenience.
