Ryan Simatic exists in the margins of the Techno community. Although he once owned an independent record store, and has been DJing for over 10 years, his gigs are primarily family affairs located in haunts common to fans of Minneapolis electronic music. In addition to techno, Simatic is a law student (you heard right). Study has cut into some of the time once reserved for bass bins, but Simatic still manages to DJ the odd party, record the occasional mix, produce a worthwhile track, and brew a decent beer (his IPA is decent, seriously). As his production skills have matured, so has his sound, garnering attention from beyond Minneapolis. Look for Simatic originals released on DaeTree (Wisconsin), Dope Recordings (Denver), and soon on Subtrak (NYC).
