Orange Whip

Orange Whip has been a staple of the Twin Cities' music scene since the year 2000. To date, the quintet has played hundreds of shows throughout the region, from clubs to corporate events, festivals to weddings. Orange Whip's many years together are in full evidence onstage, as they weave an intricate musical tapestry from a multitude of genres.

The legacy of Orange Whip extends back into the 20th century. Aaron, Tuke and Vic grew up together in Annandale, MN, beginning their musical excursions in the late 1980s. Relocated to Minneapolis in 1993, the group began collaboration with Cory as The Sea Biscuits. A few years later, Cory joined forces with Orange Whip alum Tim as the rhythm section for Gina's all-original project Otto's Jacket.

Just before the turn of the millenium, The Sea Biscuits broke up and reformed as Orange Whip, adding Gina. In the mid-2000's, Aaron took a few years off to make some kids and stuff, during which time Tim took over on drums. When Tim's family relocated to Baton Rouge in 2012, Aaron came out of retirement and reclaimed his drum throne. (While we're at it, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention Max J, who filled in on lead guitar when Vic broke his hand in 2005, not to mention John, Orange Whip's longtime sound-and-light guy who covered several shows on bass circa 2012 while Cory's life was taken over by grad school.)
