Lotus Eater has a distinct blend of bright and bouncy indie-folk, rock and pop. Lotus Eater’s new album shows a young band that has fully arrived with a sound a song-craft that stands apart on the indie music land- scape. Frontman Andrew Smith (vocals, guitar, keyboard) leads up the four-piece band that includes Aaron Hays (drums, vocals), Mitch Schumer (bass, vocals), and Nick Kiekenapp (guitars, vocals). Together they create a seizing soundscape of radio-friendly songs that display the vast range of Lotus Eater’s musicality from the technical and synth-soaked space waltz of “TLTD-S123,” to the undressed rock ditty, “Red Dog.”

Lotus Eater has released one 5 song, self-titled EP, and a full length album titled Souvenirs. Over the last two years, Lotus Eater has played at the 7th Street Entry, The Cabooze, The Fine Line, Turf Club, The 400 Bar, as well as hosting their CD release show at The Triple Rock. The band has also played shows in Des Moines, Duluth, Madison, Ames, and continues to look for venues in new areas.
