CAVEMAN
Caveman was born in New York in January of 2010, when a group of friends decided it was time to put aside their boyhood ways and start being men. The sound they crafted in that large, dark room is equal parts chamber pop, dreamscape, and horror film score. At a Caveman show you will hear four-part harmonies, spaced-out guitars, synths, and, yes, much drumming. This has been a gallant year for the band, as since their first birthday they have shared the stage with bands such as Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes, White Rabbits, Here We Go Magic, Cursive, Amazing Baby, and Blue Oyster Cult.

After a big year where Caveman gained instant praise for their live shows and the recorded songs alike, their 10-track debut album CoCo Beware was self-released via their own label Magic Man! Records / ORG Music. Besides being passionate about their music, Caveman’s 5 gentlemen each bring their own craft and identity to the band’s table. Proud New Yorker Matt Iwanusa is the main singer songwriter, as well adding percussion/drums to the band on record and live on stage. Guitarist Jimmy “Cobra” Carbonetti is born and raised on New York’s Roosevelt Island and has been designing his hand-made Cobra Guitars from scratch for a couple of years now. Together with Stefan Marolachakis (drums) and Jeff Berrall (Bass) Sam Hopkins (synths) they form a tight knit group of proud New Yorkers who, when talking to Fader Magazine said: “The genre of music is hang out.”
