GOSPEL GOSSIP

"Gospel Gossip is the only band that falls under the category of "shoegaze" that drives me to dance. I'm not talking about swaying my shoulders while my feet are in place like a good indie kid. I'm talking about the kind of dancing that you hope either breaks something or gets you laid. Their post punk influences surface most evidently in the throbbing bass lines and danceable drums that make you move like Ian Curtis. If you take acid or eat some of those red caps with white spots it is going to take maybe 20 minutes or so for the psychedelic experience to really kick into gear. That's not true when it comes to hearing this crunchily overlaid with swirling guitar and floating vocal melodies. All this may sound nice and fun but when the time comes...and it definitely comes, they lay into their instruments creating a cacophonic wall of sound as their eyes roll back into their universal head and sweat beads and people end up on their knees with arched backs and hell maybe even some toes curling. That's just what has to happen."

Special Guests / Opening Acts:

FUCK KNIGHTS

"Fully endorsed" by Maximumrocknroll and described by Mongrel Zine as "way cool psychedelic garage punk", Fuck Knights' raging, ragged rock and roll, according to Smashin' Transistors, "pays homage to the 60s but doesn't care to sit around and play dress up because it's been proven that jumping in a time machine is corny. They just wanna play loud, probably get drunk and maybe get laid (or get arrested trying)."

Baby Guts on Myspace

Baby Guts, who's name humorously translates into, "infant courage" is a punk rock trio with influences ranging from Nirvana to ASS to Bikini Kill. The original members, Laura Larson and Taylor Motari met in high school in Burnsville MN, playing in separate bands of their own until forming together with drummer Brandon Lentz. With ambition to successfully move away from the suburbs and into a more meaningful abode, Laura and Taylor relocated the band to Minneapolis.
