MAGNETIC MORNING
MAGNETIC MORNING
Magnetic Morning are a duo comprised of Sam Fogarino (drums) of Interpol and Adam Franklin (guitar and vocals) of Swervedriver and Toshack Highway. The two met in early 2006 in New York City while out to dinner with mutual friend Jack Rabid from indie magazine The Big Takeover, and started collaborating in the winter of 2006-2007, originally calling themselves the Setting Suns. They recorded their debut EP of cold, atmospheric rock at Electric Lady Studios in New York, and released the self-titled set on iTunes on November 17, 2007, under the aforementioned moniker. In January of 2008, the band became aware of another local group with a similar name -- Setting Sun -- so in order to avoid confusion, they decided to change their name to Magnetic Morning after a Toshack Highway EP. With only one show (at New York City's Mercury Lounge) under their belts, and still without a physical release of their album, they hooked up with Santa Monica, CA-based DH Records to put out their debut in CD format just in time for Record Store Day on April 19, 2008. The pair made plans to record a full-length album in between Interpol shows and the Swervedriver reunion tour.

THE LIFE AND TIMES
Since experimental space rock trio The Life and Times formed and began disarming audiences and critics with unbelievably loud yet relentlessly beautiful music, the main constant for the band has been how uncategorizable they've remained. Sure, they're a "rock band", but one that skirts the boundaries of this word in each song, tipping their collective cap to the giants that loom in each melody. Yes, they're still moody, spacey, sonically overwhelming, symphonic and always grandiose.
STORY OF THE SEA
Bandmates since childhood, Singer/Guitarist/Frontman Adam Prince and kid brother/drummer Ian Prince grew up in a musical family in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. A grown-up move to the Twin Cities and various stints in well-known local bands (Manplanet and Houston) eventually led them back to what they know best: each other. They began Story of the Sea as a guitar and drums two-piece, initially noted for Ian’s famous airtight skills on the kit. The brothers then added stand-out bass talent John McEwen from Align to record their first LP.
