The Former First Lady of Performance Art! Marcel Michelle-Mobama is a GNC/Queer/Trans Artist of Color with a multidisciplinary background interested in subverting conventional notions of eroticism. Residing in the Twin Cities (MSP), she is a founding member of Carnivale Revolver, St. Cloud's premier vaudeville revue. She is also a cast member of Dykes do Drag, Hot Dish Cabaret, and Visions of Sugarplums - The Burlesque Nutcracker. Her work has been featured in Queertopia, Red Eye's New Works Series, Patrick's Cabaret, and the Minneapolis Burlesque Festival.
Marcel has served as a choreographer for various theatre companies, events, and individual performers throughout the state of Minnesota, including Victoria DeVille, Nadine DuBois, Elektra Cute, The Pink & White Ball, and Mission Theatre Company's repertory productions of Titus Andronicus/Much Ado About Nothing. Marcel served as a producer of the 2015 Twin Cities Top Drawer Burlesque Exposition. She is also the curator of Exposition: Queer Performance and Conversation, produced by 20% Theatre Company. As an actor Marcel has appeared with Savage Umbrella, 20% Theatre Company, Live Action Set, and Pioneer Place Theatre Company to name a few.
