At his senior recital in college, Gigamesh performed songs by Aphex Twin, Leonard Bernstein, The Bad Plus, John Coltrane and Portishead. At the time, he was also drumming in a grindcore metal band themed entirely on the writing of Philip K. Dick. Throughout his childhood, he was producing hip-hop and dance beats based on samples taken from whatever albums he could find at the public library. He has always believed that music should have no boundaries, good is good and music is for happiness.
Gigamesh has been making his mark for several years in dance clubs around the world. In addition to lending his studio expertise to DiscoTech, he has had considerable attention for his bootleg remixes of artists like Lykke Li, Animal Collective, and Radiohead. Those projects resulted in being hired to remix Mike Posner’s ’Cooler Than Me’ in late 2009. The Gigamesh version was ultimately shortened into a radio single, and chosen to be the first single on Posner’s debut album with J Records. It went on to sell over two million copies and hit the #5 position on Billboard, jump starting Posner’s career as a top 40 artist.
