Hey Everybody,

So you may have heard that we're painting our stars. And we're here to clarify some things.

First, breathe. They will be coming back.

It's been about 10 years since we were last able to do a restoration job and that's really all that this project is about. We have been doing a lot of exciting improvements around the club including a new bathroom in the The Entry, new soundsystem in The Entry, new Mainroom speakers. Not to mention that we're opening our new bar, The Depot Tavern. We are making all of these updates to make First Avenue the best concert experience possible.

The voting of the stars is not the mastermind of some marketing firm. We saw it as an opportunity to interact with our fans and see who you think deserves a star that may not already have one. Not all of the stars will be determined by voting. Most of them will be decided by First Avenue staff that have been here for many, many years. We had around 530 stars but will end up with 400 or so. So, yes some stars will have to go. But, hopefully you can part with the Menudo star in order for someone like Doomtree to possibly get a star.

We are honored that there has been such a passionate reaction to our stars. And rest assured we want to take good care of them as well. It's our 40th Anniversary this year which is something that we are very proud of.  The last thing we want to do is wipe out the history of this music club.

Our goal is to be one of the best live music venues inside and out.
