City on the Make is a band from South Minneapolis, Minnesota comprised of childhood friends Mischa Keegan (guitar, vocals), Mike Massey (vocals), Stephen Rowe (bass, vocals), and Colin Stumbras (drums). Making music together for years, the band City on the Make emerged onto the Minneapolis scene in 2004. Purists may disagree (or give a resounding cheer, depending), but City on the Make is a “blues” band in the truest sense - raw soul channeled through musicians by way of their hands, voices, and messages of a hard-lived working-class world. Though self-described as “rock n roll” the band’s blending of musical styles and literary influences has won them warm reception in indie rock, hip-hop, blues, and basement punk circles. A favorite at the historical 400 Bar, City on the Make has consistently set themselves apart from their contemporaries as a distinct voice and muscular presence in the lush Minneapolis music community.
