ABOVE THE FOLD 1 YR ANNIVERSARY PARTY
SO GOLD
Up and coming Dj/Producer/Remixer So Gold (aka David Brewer II) is starting to become a very sought after name in the city of Minneapolis for the past couple of years. Gaining National and Regional recognition from the beginning of 2007. Playing everything from Disco, Electro, Funk, House, Hip-Hop and Indie Rock. He has produced material that has been widely showcased in a number of DJ mixes and also released a very distinct and different sound of Baltimore Club remixes to the likeness of Disco, Indie Rock and Electro music genres.
GIGAMESH
Gigamesh is the stage name of Matt Masurka, an American multi-platinum selling music producer and DJ. Most recognized for his remix work, he has experienced a swiftly building reputation as one of the most versatile and consistent names in indie-dance music. Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota (a.k.a. Prince’s hometown and the city that inspired Funkytown), it is no surprise Gigamesh has developed a keen taste for disco and 80′s electro-boogie. The sound is immediately recognizable in much of his music, however he maintains a flexible aesthetic.
NATALIE PORTMAN'S SHAVED HEAD
Natalie Portman's Shaved Head on Myspace
We are a musical wrecking ball with a giant cupcake attached to the end of the chain. We are a tea party with your whole pre-school class dressed in purple sweatpants and turtlenecks. We are a foreign film without subtitles. We are the two-week high school beard that should be shaved off but you gotta just give it time to grow! We are sexual dynamite.
SOLID GOLD (DJ Set)
Let’s get this out of the way up top: no, Solid Gold is not a syndicated top 40 countdown show which aired from 1980 to 1988 featuring the Solid Gold Dancers. But I could see the Solid Gold Dancers doing a fine routine to a couple of Solid Gold’s numbers—maybe the slinky “Bible Thumper,” or the dreamier “Who You Gonna Run To?” Now that we’ve cleared that up, here’s the deal: Solid Gold is a band with the ability to compel you to Shake. Your. Ass.
