HOODIE ALLEN

Make every word count. This has long been the mantra of Hoodie Allen, the New York based rapper and songwriter. With a penchant for candid storytelling and witty punchlines, Hoodie has always been an emcee who understood the importance of connecting with the audience through his lyrics. A purveyor of summertime anthems, Hoodie Allen has gained notable buzz on the internet for his unique genre-blending style, unafraid to sample from unconventional sources.

His most recent work samples a diverse array of artists and sounds from UK pop singers (Marina & The Diamonds & Eliza Doolittle) to indie rock staples and upstarts (Death Cab for Cutie). The idiosyncrasy of the music is very fitting as Hoodie Allen is not your typical rapper. A self-described, college educated music nerd, Hoodie Allen embraces his individuality and promotes it as the main message in his hype-machine breakout “You Are Not A Robot” (2010). The future is bright for Hoodie Allen. He plans to continue providing the masses with feel-good music for a long time.

Special Guests / Opening Acts:

AER

David von Mering and Carter Schultz of Wayland, MA create music that finds its roots in reggae, acoustic pop and indie rock, with smooth guitar riffs and a strong rap component. After releasing their mixtapes Water On The Moon and The Reach in late-2010 and mid-2011 respectively, the guys proceeded to release their first iTunes EP What You Need in October of 2011. What You Need would go on to reach the #1 spot on iTunes hip-hop charts, launching Aer onto an East Coast tour alongside Ballyhoo!

JARED EVAN

JARED EVAN began to produce and rhyme over new genre-blending beats while introducing heavily melodic hooks to create groundbreaking undertones. Soon, others began to take notice. In 2008 at the age of 18, JARED won the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival’s Spit 16 competition curated by The Source (magazine). Jared was invited to open the festival and his performance immediately caught the attention of attendees, MC’s and the press. Off of the strength of his performance, Jared was invited to perform several shows including an opening gig for Lupe Fiasco in the fall of 2008.
