HOLLERADO
Hollerado is four friends that grew up on the same street in tiny Manotick, Ontario. They’ve also become one of the most lovable groups on the planet thanks to insanely catchy and energetic guitar pop, boundless creativity and a relentless DIY approach. Starting from the humblest beginnings as a moving company called Haulerado in 2006, charismatic lead singer/guitarist Menno Versteeg, lead guitarist Nixon Boyd, his brother and drummer Jake Boyd and bassist Dean Baxter have found countless colourful and improbable ways to bring their music to the world…

Demos in plastic baggies and eventually a whole record in one (the band’s full-length debut Record In A Bag was released on Royal Mountain Records via Arts & Crafts in February, 2010). A video starring Kid In The Hall Dave Foley and another featuring Margot Kidder, aka Lois Lane. A month-long “Residency Tour” in which the band spent February, 2009 driving to one of seven cities every night for 28 straight days. Shows with some of the most critically lauded names in music including Weezer, The Black Lips, The Cribs and Andrew W.K., Titus Andronicus and Girl Talk. Tours with Canadian darlings The Besnard Lakes and Arkells. Getting handpicked by Jack White to open for The Dead Weather. Winning a $250,000 Big Money Shot from Ottawa’s Live 88.5. Two tours in China and one of South America and most recently, an international viral hit video for “Americanarama,” a “Human 8-Bit” sensation that logged more than half a million hits on Youtube in its first month. Hollerado’s songs combine the melodic energy of Supergrass with the irreverent wit of Pavement and their shows that have been described as elementary school recess with beer and an acid and piñata party at a country and western bar. In other words, Hollerado is pure fun. Don’t miss out.

THE BLUE MOLLIES
"Every town plays the same record, just a different sleeve," sings Emily Dupuis in perhaps her most perfect summary of the stories told in The Blue Mollies debut album, Big People Shoes. This is more than just a record by one of the Twin Cities best new bands, this is a record of life experience experiences that we all reflect upon late in the evening when the sun has gone down and all that is left is the settling in of personal reflection about family, day to day struggles, death, and ultimately the longing for happiness that we all can achieve.
