After time spent as an early prominent music blogger and on the airwaves at Radio K, Peter Lansky began DJing as Sovietpanda in 2006 when he started Too Much Love at First Avenue. Blending forward-thinking electronic music with a reverence for dance classics, TML exploded and Sovietpanda became one of the city's premier DJs. The start of 2008 saw him named Best Club DJ in Minneapolis by the City Pages, and he finished it as a Star Tribune artist of the year, all less than two years into his DJ career. Sovietpanda has DJed all over Minneapolis, from dive bars to bottle service clubs, from art galleries to outside the Metrodome, and in other cities across the country. He's shared bills with the likes of LCD Soundsystem, !!!, The Juan Maclean, In Flagranti, Shit Robot, Classixx, Klaxons, Diplo, Holy Ghost!, The Presets, Cut Copy, Nacho Lovers, Jacques Renault, and other artists from across Twin Cities and the rest of the world.

DJ JAKE RUDH

DJ JAKE RUDH

Former Radio K, REV 105 & NPR alum and present host on The Current, Jake's been voted "best DJ" in the Twin Cities by the readers & critics of City Pages magazine nine years running (2003-2011) and one of Star Tribune's "Artists of the Year" (2012). A 2005 Minnesota Music Award recipient, he was listed as "one of the top 100 reasons to love the Twin Cities" in October 2008 by METRO Magazine. His long-running "Transmission" dance night has been a weekly staple on the Minneapolis scene for over a decade.

"Where Jake Rudh goes, dance floors follow. The DJ brought his retro sounds (and love of TV's Mad Men) to parties everywhere -- museums, libraries, restaurants, neighborhood bars, rock clubs. He started the year off with a bang, celebrating 10 years of Transmission, his weekly New Wave dance night at tiny Clubhouse Jäger, by bringing it to First Avenue, where he blew the roof off that storied club. Gigs just blossomed from there, turning Rudh into a true tastemaker. Not surprisingly, the Current offered him a weekly radio slot. Now even more people can groove to his love of Britpop, post-punk and the ilk." [Tom Horgen, Star Tribune, 2011]

MIKE 2600

MIKE 2600

MIKE 2600 is a 15-year veteran DJ, having rocked parties from San Francisco to St. Paul, from Oregon to Osaka. After moving to Minneapolis from St. Louis in 2003, Mike immediately began throwing the "Let's Get Electric" party in First Avenue's V.I.P. room (now The Record Room), a monthly excursion into Miami Bass, Southern Bounce, 1980s pop classics, disco, and post-punk. Years later, Mike is still going strong on the turntables throughout the Twin Cities, organizing and DJing at First Avenue's giant Prince and Michael Jackson tribute dance parties (in Summers 2009 and 2010 respectively), spinning at the annual Soundset festival and on Rhymesayers' RSE Radio on KFAI, and can be found regularly rocking at parties like Get Cryphy, Bomp, and Triple Double, helping City Pages choose him as their Best Club DJ of 2010.

Mike's funk-fueled remixes and original productions have been included in sets by world class DJs such as Peanut Butter Wolf, DJ AM, Freddy Fresh, DJ Yoda, Cosmo Baker, and featured on Los Angeles' Indie 103FM. His 2009 "Ready to Rock" EP of psychedelic b-boy party anthems remains in the Top 20 of TurntableLab.com's all time best selling digital releases. Mike has shared the stage and opened up for DJs and acts including Atmosphere, Dam Funk, Prince Paul, Mixmaster Mike, Spank Rock, Madlib, Peanut Butter Wolf, Nadastrom, Tittsworth, DJ Assault, The Rub, Flosstradamus, Jinder, and Tiesto.

Turntablist Of The Year Nominee, Minnesota Music Awards 2005

I've been on the scene for over ten years and have a passion for solid, creative musical styles. I am never ordinary and always thinkin up ways to stand out. Check me out weekly at First Ave in downtown Mpls. Minnesota doesnt have its own identity. Theres no real flavor thats identifiable with Minnesota. As far as the rap crews, they need better beats. Everyone concentrates so much on the lyrics and making their album ultra introspective and lyrically rich and no one focuses on the beats. Hip-Hop is about rocking the party and making people dance... Once we can get that going on and we can start our own trends in music and fashion and stop ostracizing everyone who is different we will begin to start making some real moves as a city.
