CHRISTINA CHATFIELD

Christina Chatfield is a techno and house producer and live performer based out of San Francisco, California. She is an avid user of both hardware and software in the studio, with the use of analog synthesizers giving her music a unique, organic sound that is her own. Her live sets have garnered near-unanimous praise, earning her a residency with San Francisco event producer As You Like It. Working under her own name and also the pseudonym Anitserk, she has released on Detroit label Beretta Grey, Klectik Records, and Racecar Productions.

DAVID SCUBA

DAVID SCUBA

It all started for Scuba growing up on the East Coast in the late 1990s, where he religiously soaked up the underground electronic dance sounds emanating out of Twilo in New York City every Friday night. Over a decade later, Scuba has gone from cutting his teeth working AandR for Timeless Groove Records (TGR) and Real Music Deal (RMD) – with releases from artists such as Peter Bailey, AstroGlyde, KC Flight, and Funky Junction - to manning the stage at the Winter Music Conference, appearing in Nocturnal, B.Y.O.R (Marlin) and Space with Andrew Grant (DC-10).

Scoobs entered the studio to develop tracks supported in the fine hands of the respected DJs Adultnapper, and Mr. C, who have supported his music at the Sunday school for Degenerates party at WMC. On top of that Scuba is one of the residents of Superfreq a legendary party out of London, and partner of the Los Angeles chapter. These flashes of progress keep Scuba sane while grinding it out at the nine-to-five, the begrudgingly necessary day jobs that fund the aural endeavors.

AARON BLISS

AARON BLISS

Originally from New Orleans, Aaron Hart aka Aaron Bliss has been actively promoting, DJing and performing live PA’s since his move to the Midwest in 1995. His move to the Midwest came after a brief but intense 2 plus-year induction period to the underground techno sound via the New York City Rave Scene from 93-95, which landed Aaron smack dab in the middle of a dance music epoch that changed his life forever.

The constant exposure to the emerging house phenomenon at major clubs/events such as Living Room, Smack, Nasa, and Bliss (which he later jacked for his DJ alter ego) shaped his formative years and started him on his journey to find his own sound. Although his early influences range from hip-hop, industrial, rave, house, and techno, Aaron’s sound today explores the deep, jazzy, and funky side of Techno and House. He is currently a member/founder of Particle People Mpls promotions group with his good friend Jesse Jakob (which also performs live together as Jack Complex) and has a residency at Minneapolis’ famed First Ave night club hosting the BLACK series of events since 2007.

Every Saturday in The Record Room

Saturday nights in the Record Room are thudding with the sounds of the underground while an eclectic mix of party-goers gather downstairs for Too Much Love. The music upstairs - a fervent big brother to the sounds below - is hosted by techno heads Particle People, techno/house dynamos Loud + Clear, and funky house doctors HotDish. These three crews work collectively to institute a dance-culture favorite in Minneapolis - fittingly dubbed BLACK (if you've been in the Record Room, you know why).
