JOE LYON, MAGICIAN OF THE LIVING DEAD
Appearing first in the early 1980's, The Magician of the Living Dead is a magic act sent up in the tradition of the exploitation films of the 70's and early 80's. Promising frightening chills and thrills, then like the exploitation film tactics of the bait and switch end up delivering a variety of mishaps and comedy with a thrill or two along the way!
LAURA THORNE
Laura Thorne began working as a comic in 2007 at the suggestion of her former boss, who upon firing her, recommended she pursue standup comedy as it seemed a better fit than the corporate world. Devastated, broke, and deeply humbled, Laura began performing standup comedy in Washington, DC and throughout the East Coast. Laura now lives in Minneapolis where she regularly performs standup and improvisational comedy for corporate events, charities, and comedy clubs. No longer devastated or broke (but still humble as her mother is her manager), Laura is a rising star on the Minneapolis comedy scene.
THE VAN GOBOTS
The van Gobots are a rock and roll band from Minneapolis, formed in 2007 in the heat of summer in a sweaty practice space in Minneapolis. In September of 2008 The van Gobots self-released their debut self-titled EP. The van Gobots’ follow-up full-length record, Guantanamo Beach Party, was written in the winter of 2009 and later recorded by Adam Tucker at Signaturetone Recording in May of 2009.
