KOTTONMOUTH KINGS

An Underground revolution… against all odds and logic and always against the grain the Kottonmouth Kings continue to release ground breaking albums on their own label Suburban Noize Records. With soundscan numbers in the millions and packed houses across the country, Kottonmouth Kings have been laying the foundation of one of today’s most radical music movements in America and beyond. Combining mind-bending sonics, fusing Hip Hop, Punk Rock, and soul-flavored classics, The Kings have innovated and pioneered their own sound that has set them apart from the pack. In a day and age of fast food consumerism, The Kings have proved their lasting staying power redefining the meaning of a self empowered group. They are an institution in the sub-culture of America, running their own clothing company and label that hosts 24 other acts.

Kottonmouth Kings celebrated this year’s annual 4-20 holiday with the release of their Legalize It EP, which was released through digital retailers on April 20, 2011. Embracing their passion and talent for creating music, Kottonmouth Kings have assembled an EP rich in musical diversity, as they flirt with a number of styles to showcase their true creative firepower. "There are people that want to write Kottonmouth Kings off as a one dimensional weed band, but that is because it's easy to put a label on what we do. Yes we love weed and champion the cause, but the levels and depths of our songs go a lot deeper than just that one dimension," commented Brad X. "Anyone who can't look past the weed references on our albums are completely missing out on some of our best material. We have a passion for music and that is why on a Kottonmouth Kings record you have punk-rock songs next to hip-hop, as well as mellow acoustic tracks or alt-rock. Yes we do write songs about weed and legalization, but we also write about life, love, politics and the beauty our planet.” The Legalize It digital EP is being served as an appetizer for Kottonmouth Kings upcoming full-length studio album The Sunrise Sessions, which is set for a July 19, 2011 release through Suburban Noize Records.

Special Guests / Opening Acts:

KINGSPADE

In an effort to continuously broaden their musical horizons and expand the hip-hop empire they helped create, Kottonmouth Kings’ D-Loc and Johnny Richter branched out from the Kottonmouth Kings and released the highly anticipated self-titled debut Kingspade in 2004. The album was fueled by club banging beats and party anthems like “Drunk in the Club”, and was followed by the group's sophomore effort PTB in 2007. Since then Kingspade has gone on to chart on the Billboard Top 200, selling over 75,000 albums and tour the country on their own headlining tour.

JOHNNY RICHTER

As co-emcee of one of the underground’s hottest groups for the past decade, the Kottonmouth Kings, Johnny Richter has come and conquered. With his cohorts in Kottonmouth Kings, Richter has sold more than 2 million records, rocked shows from Amsterdam to Japan, and helped to build an underground musical movement that peaked with the group’s latest album hitting #26 on the Billboard Top 200. Now after climbing the mountain to musical longevity, Johnny Richter is standing at the top ready for his next musical conquest.

D-LOC

Since his debut with counter-culture icons the Kottonmouth Kings in 1994, D-Loc has soared to the heights of success by selling over 2 million albums and over a million in concerts tickets from over 1,500 live performances in the group’s decade plus existence. The Kottonmouth Kings have infiltrated the mainstream on their own terms and each of the group’s albums has hit the Billboard Charts Top 200, even debuting as high as #39 on the charts.

THE DIRTBALL

The Dirtball is at the forefront of the underground scene that is taking over hip-hop. In a time of downward spiraling record sales, The Dirtball’s career has managed to flourish as he has rocketed into national fame with the persistence and will to survive in the jungle that is the music business. He has managed to build his fan base by promoting his solo career and as a member of the Kottonmouth Kings.

DJ BOBBY B

DJ Bobby B, born in Riverside, CA is a DJ with well over a decade’s experience, having started with a band called “The Neighborhoods” in the late 1980s. He is currently the DJ for the group Kottonmouth Kings. He has been involved in many joint ventures with other groups such as Tsunami Brothers (including Kottonmouth Kings’s D-Loc on the turntables). He has recorded tracks for various other artists, including Tommy Lee. His solo projects include: 99 Rips Beyond (1999), Built From Scratch (2001), and Diggin’ in Crates (2004).
