Special Guests / Opening Acts:

DILLON FRANCIS (Mad Decent)

Almost out of nowhere, Los Angeles’ Dillon Francis has broken from the throng of young electronic music dj/producers. With a stream of world-class remixes and releases, Dillon has caught the attention of some of the top players in club land, including Steve Aoki, Diplo, Will I. Am, Drop The Lime, Sinden, and Tittsworth to name some. In less than a year his blistering productions have been heavily supported by Major Lazer, who opened their show with “Westside!,” a Dutch House-flavored monster that was consistently rinsed by top djs on both sides of the pond, including Sinden and Steve Aoki.

JIMMY 2 TIMES

Jimmy 2 Times really knows how to rock a party rock a party—and if you think that last part was a typo, it's a crying shame you haven't seen Goodfellas. The lingo behind Jimmy's "Get Cryphy" party might need some explaining, too: "Cryphy" is the wild-child offspring of "Crunk" and "Hyphy," regional hip-hop styles that encourage getting raw and rowdy on the dance floor, and the super-hype soiree has been a huge success in First Avenue's VIP Room for more than a year.

PLAIN OLE BILL

Known in the Twin Cities as co-founder of Get Cryphy, the city's top hip-hop night, Plain Ole Bill stands apart from others behind the booth when it comes to his skill, genial attitude, and résumé. He gained recognition outside Minneapolis as P.O.S.'s touring DJ throughout most of 2009, but this year has been especially busy for Bill.

DJ NOAM THE DRUMMER

Noam The Drummer is a Minneapolis-based hip-hop dj & producer. Currently, you can catch him every second Friday at Honey (Northeast Minneapolis) in the mix for “Turnt Up!”, a monthly Rap Dance Party. From 2007 to 2011, Noam the Drummer co-hosted “The Beat Box” radio show on Radio K at the University of Minnesota. Since 2002, Noam has banged out beats with his crew, Famfeud, as well as backing Big Quarters, I.B.E and other groups on the turntables.

THE TRIBE & BIG CATS!

The Tribe & Big Cats! operate on a simple philosophy: rap music can be fun without being stupid. It can be catchy without being formulaic. And when it’s done right, rap music will make you nod your head, whether because the MC is on point or because the beat is a banger-- or ideally, both.
