Up and coming Dj/Producer/Remixer So Gold (aka David Brewer II) is starting to become a very sought after name in the city of Minneapolis for the past couple of years. Gaining National and Regional recognition from the beginning of 2007. Playing everything from Disco, Electro, Funk, House, Hip-Hop and Indie Rock. He has produced material that has been widely showcased in a number of DJ mixes and also released a very distinct and different sound of Baltimore Club remixes to the likeness of Disco, Indie Rock and Electro music genres. Appropriately named The Remixes EP, it was released to the blogosphere and multiple sites as a free download in Winter of 2008 that featured remixes and additional production to Canadian Electro dual Crystal Castles, French producer The Phantom's Revenge, the rare and underrated Disco group, Lime, and the legendary Disco collective, The Bee Gees. Since the release of this EP, he has gained full support from various music blogs and sites located from the Midwest, New Zealand and London.

He holds a residency on every third Friday night with a collective of DJs who have since Summer of 2009 thrown a successfully running function titled "Wants Vs Needs." This event has been established by local Djs; Anton, Espada, Petey Wheatstraw and So Gold with support from Streetwear and Lifestyle company Vs Social Standard and famed artist/designer Adam Garcia of The Pressure / Nike Sportswear.

Presently he has done mixes for Scion A/V, that aired in the month of November 2009 on Chicago Urban House Radio, a monthly internet based channel hosted by legendary artist/musician Roy Davis Jr. In addition, he was along the side of Fool's Golds' Treasure Fingers and Chicago House music Dj/Producer, Bear Who for that pacific installment. As for production, So Gold is working with local bands and musicians for original material and remixes and also collaborative projects with artists ranging from Atlanta, New York, France and the Bay Area.

DJ ESPADA

Espada (aka Damien Vasquez) has been a mainstay in the Twin Cities DJ community for over 10 years. He came up with some of the Twin Cities most notable hiphop artists including Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Eyedea & Abilities and was one of the original DJs of RSE Radio. He's been a part of some of Minneapolis' most successful and respected hip hop nights at The Loring Pasta Bar, Rhymesayers' "Essential Elements" and "Let's Get Electric" with Mike the 2600 King.

2009 saw Espada looking to branch outside of the Twin Cities but also re-evaluate his place within his own community. Teaming up with three Minneapolis based DJs and designer Adam Garcia of the Pressure, Wants Vs Needs was born. Espada brings an eclectic deep cut mix of funk, soul, disco to the table while maintaining what is relevant in music today. Having performed for crowds in not only the Twin Cities he's also performed in Austin, Chicago, Portland, Milwaukee, Winnipeg and played the SXSW Music Conference as well as Rhymesayers' Soundset Festival.

DJ ANTON

Initially drawn to DJing because of a love of Hip-Hop and interest in scratching records Anton Pearson bought his first Technics 1200 turntable circa 1997. He started DJing at shows in 1999. From 2002 to 2003 Anton was the resident DJ (with DJ Espada as well) at the now infamous Loring Pasta Bar Hip-Hop night at the same time he was entering DJ battles and won the local Guitar Center battles both years progressing to regional finals. He also entered the Scribble Jam DJ Battle in 2002 and made it to the final four round. DJ Anton has played numerous shows over the years including opening for Slum Village with the Interlock All-stars at the Twin Cities Hip Hop festival & opening for Buck 65 while DJing for Twisted Linguistics.

Anton also currently DJs around town in Minneapolis having recently played on the Fifth Element stage at Soundset along with opening up for Flosstradamus. You can also listen in to Rhymesayers Radio where Anton is a rotating DJ. Over the years Anton has become known for playing all types of music from Hip-hop all the way to Electronic with some Funk and Soul in between.

PETEY WHEATSTRAW

Petey Wheatstraw (aka Pete Bekke)'s interest in DJing began during the hight of the DJ battle scene. Petey took that interest and made it a reality in 2003 when he got his hands on his first set of turntables. Petey got his start in the Minneapolis underground hip hop scene playing hip hop shows and parties but as his love for the craft increased he grew more and more interested in playing music that got people dancing. Stepping out of hip hop clubs and into dance clubs he saw the joy and success his playing brought to crowds who were interested in dancing & partying. In 2009 he crewed up with long time friends to become co-creator of Wants Vs Needs and has been party rocking ever since.

DJ BOOKA B

Booka B (aka Adam Bucher) is a native to the Twin Cities and has been DJing and producing since the mid 90’s. In 2005 he released his mostly instrumental album Basementality, and in 2007, with MC and beat box artist Carnage, released the album Sense Of Sound. As a producer, Booka B has worked with a host of artists including Slug, Eyedea & Abilities, P.O.S., Toki Wright, Desdamona, Heiruspecs, Michael Lewis, Anomaly, and Jeremy Ylvisaker.

In addition to making music and holding down a few weekly DJ residencies, Booka B teaches audio technology and painting at Creative Arts High School in St Paul.

COSMO BAKER

Cosmo Baker is widely considered as one of the top party-rocking DJs on the planet. A master of everything from hip-hop to disco & funk to electronic music, his unique style and spinning prowess is able to bring it all together in a cohesive, and funky manner. This Philadelphia native cut his chops alongside contemporaries such as ?uestlove and Rich Medina, and when he relocated to Brooklyn in the early ’00s he helped found the internationally known DJ / remix collective The Rub. His knowledge of music is only matched with his uncanny ability to move the crowd.
