Spring is in the air and it's time for another edition of EXTRA LARGE! This new monthly party features DJ sets from Mike 2600 with one different guest DJ each month. The night will give each DJ ample time and elbow room to shift between everything from hip hop to dancehall to disco to funk to electro house to classic party bangers. EXTRA LARGE is all about big tunes, big sound, and big fun!
This month, Mike invites special guest DJ Dudley D to the Record Room for a very special full night dedicated to the one and only Prince! We'll be spinning all of your favorite tunes from Prince as well as his many disciples and the musicians who helped shape the Minneapolis Sound: Sheila E, Morris Day & The Time, Jesse Johnson, Andre Cymone, Cherrelle, Apollonia 6, and many more! Dudley D has toured as the DJ for Prince and the New Power Generation, so you KNOW this guy's got the juice. You might have also seen him DJing at Envy or as a member of the New Congress.

MIKE 2600 is a 15-year veteran DJ, having rocked parties from San Francisco to St. Paul, from Oregon to Osaka. After moving to Minneapolis from St. Louis in 2003, Mike immediately began throwing the "Let's Get Electric" party in First Avenue's V.I.P. room (now The Record Room), a monthly excursion into Miami Bass, Southern Bounce, 1980s pop classics, disco, and post-punk.

I am a DJ. I play music and you dance. pretty simple but its not. I have been DJin since 92, way back when I would record mixes off the radio and then edit out the talking on my sweet dual tape deck. After everything was cut I would bring the tapes in and DJ my highschool dance. My friend worked all summer @ some law office to save all his chips and buy a pair of 1200's.....eventually he sold them to me and I have not looked back. I spent a good 5-6 years touring and DJing for Prince ...eventually going around the world touring and performing with Prince and The New Power Generation.
