A BENEFIT FOR JOHN TAILLON
Special Guests / Opening Acts:

MISTER FISTER

Mister Fister consists of Tom Harlan on guitar and vocal chords, Chris McAlpin on drums, Jesse Eckhoff on bass, last but not least the 'Rip Master' Josh Ripley on lead guitar and back up vox. It all started with Chris + Tom had always been friends - they both liked music. Tom had a guitar + Chris his first drum kit, they were 13 + 14. Ever since they have been playing and writing with all sorts of people, + instruments. Sooner or later they started booking shows, and picked up a bassist named Andy Mahoney. Mahoney was with the band for quite some time, he later moved to South Carolina.

KIDS OF COMETS

Kids of Comets is the love child of the local bands "Dorian Grey" and "Ekoflo." We hope to provide our fans with a unique show mixed with original music as well as covers. We were born, at some point started playing music separately, then the aforementioned meetings took place and fate told us to rock in a not so separate fashion.

THE PHOENIX PHILOSOPHY

The Phoenix Philosophy pushes the envelope when it comes to answering the question: how is rock music evolving in the postmodern musical-landscape? Sonically, the band employs commanding guitars dueled against a potent influence of the electronic, memorable vocal hooks backed against pacing dance beats. The stories told within their songs on the thematic level are those of the relations between individuals—for better, for worse, but often simply stating the darker inevitable.

STANDARD THOMPSON

"Melodic, hook driven guitar pop rock with power and catchy simplicity that you can't help but to sing along with." I don't remember who said that about us, maybe I made it up!... I am Mike Hjelden and I started this band in 1996 in Minot, ND. After 4 full lengths, several EPs and much more to come. Here we are. We have played so many venues in the mid west that I have lost track. Most notably the 2 incredible nights at First Avenue's Mainroom. Some packed houses at The Fine Line.

ADA JANE

Ada Jane is the latest manifestation of the musical efforts of Minneapolis-based singer/songwriter Matt Marka. The band also includes Charlie Wilson (drums), David Strahan (lead guitar), Collin Neugebauer (bass), and various other guests, musical and non-musical, on various nights. Ada Jane delivers a varied sound style, ranging from moody dirges similar to the darker moments of Wilco or Bruce Springsteen, to rollicking, rousing rock ‘n roll that has been compared to Hüsker Dü.

CLIFFTON WALES

Someone once referred to us as a "Soulful voice, a dirty guitar, and a bumpin' rhythm section." I think that suits us. We are who we are and we do what we do. We take every opportunity to use the talent we were given. There is nothing more rewarding for us than standing in front of a packed house watching the crowd sing our songs with us. We are a group of musicians. We have all played with several groups, some who have toured nationally. Our unique sounds is a product of the merging of several very diverse backgrounds.
