Particle People, Loud + Clear and HotDish present BLACK
BLACK
Every Saturday in The Record Room
Saturday nights in the Record Room are thudding with the sounds of the underground while an eclectic mix of party-goers gather downstairs for Too Much Love. The music upstairs - a fervent big brother to the sounds below - is hosted by techno heads Particle People, techno/house dynamos Loud + Clear, and funky house doctors HotDish. These three crews work collectively to institute a dance-culture favorite in Minneapolis - fittingly dubbed BLACK (if you've been in the Record Room, you know why).
E-TONES
In a Minneapolis club district yearning to be West Hollywood or South Beach, Jetset is pure Williamsburg: a coolly lit hideout of candles and white brick that's meant to be accidentally discovered, then shared among friends. (You can find the place a few doors down from Jeune Lune, at 115 North First Street.) On a typical Friday, dreamlike house music envelops conversation rather than overwhelming it. The casually chic crowd absorbs strangers and non-GLBT-regulars without batting an eyelash, while accommodating a small circle of dancers.
MATT VELOCE
Matt Veloce is a disco & funky house producer and DJ in the Minneapolis music scene. Building upon releases on Terrence Parker's label, Parker MusicWorks, and remix work for Tommy Largo on Alphabet Music; Matt now has a forthcoming EP on funky/disco powerhouse imprint, GrooveTraxx.
J MATTHEWS
Under the moniker “DJ Nickles,” J Matthews has made incalculable cameo appearances at nearly every Twin Cities nightclub and multiple raves since the early 90s, in addition to high-profile performances at the long running “Bump” at the Phoenix Landing in Cambridge, MA. Today, Matthews continues to showcase his talent throughout the cities while holding down his residency at First Avenue and working tirelessly on his International on-line radio show “Funk Yeah FM” on ChicagoHouseFM.com.
AARON LITSCHKE
Having launched his career from the trenches of the mid-90s rave scene, Aaron Litschke (aka "Little Aaron") became a veteran behind the decks at a young age. That experience has helped shape his unique style and deep track collection; blending classic tracks with new, unreleased beaters that heads will surely appreciate. His layered blend of techno, house and acid has kept feet moving across America: from Chicago to Portland, San Diego to Detroit. Behind the decks, his enthusiasm is infectious.
