Burlesque of North America presents EXTRA LARGE
It's time for another action-packed round of EXTRA LARGE, Burlesque & Mike 2600's monthly dance party going down second Fridays in First Avenue's Record Room.
This month, Mike will be overseas, so he's passing the party patrol duties to two of Minneapolis' finer purveyors of gettin' thangs POPPIN!
Switching off on the turntables throughout the night will be DJ Espada (Wants VS Needs) and Last Word (Get Cryphy). Expect to hear classic hip hop, funk, dancehall, Moombahton, bounce, and all the other sounds you've come to know and love each month at EXTRA LARGE.

A monthly dance party from Burlesque of North America and Moon Goons, bringing you DJ sets from Mike 2600 and Jonathan Ackerman with special guests each month. Rather than focusing on a particular genre or musical style, EXTRA LARGE gives each DJ ample time and elbow room to shift between everything from hip hop to disco to dancehall to funk to Moombahton to classic party bangers. EXTRA LARGE is all about big tunes, big sound, and big fun!

DJ ESPADA
Espada (aka Damien Vasquez) has been a mainstay in the Twin Cities DJ community for over 10 years. He came up with some of the Twin Cities most notable hiphop artists including Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Eyedea & Abilities and was one of the original DJs of RSE Radio. He's been a part of some of Minneapolis' most successful and respected hip hop nights at The Loring Pasta Bar, Rhymesayers' "Essential Elements" and "Let's Get Electric" with Mike the 2600 King.
LAST WORD
DJ LAST WORD may not be a household name, but he’s earned respect for his work producing and live mixing for local rappers like Dialogue Elevators, Ernie Rhodes, and more. He's been spinning since 2000, getting his start at former Dinkytown sandwich shop/music venue Bon Appetit.
