With his international DJing, collaboration with Scrubfish and others, and his constant passion for house. Nate Laurence is a true soldier in the house music scene.

We are Nate Laurence and J Matthews. We are the goofiest mofo’s you know. Have you seen Nate’s dance yet? LOL. Have you been to a J Matthews Tornado Dance Off party yet? OMG.

Our goal each show is to bring smiles and tears of joy to you. Melt faces if you will. We party hardy and love the early dancing crowd. We are starting to see a trend here. You come to party early and we love it!! Minneapolis needs to party harder and we want to be the catalyst for this.

Every Saturday in The Record Room
Saturday nights in the Record Room are thudding with the sounds of the underground while an eclectic mix of party-goers gather downstairs for Too Much Love. The music upstairs - a fervent big brother to the sounds below - is hosted by techno heads Particle People, techno/house dynamos Loud + Clear, and funky house doctors HotDish. These three crews work collectively to institute a dance-culture favorite in Minneapolis - fittingly dubbed BLACK (if you've been in the Record Room, you know why).
HOTDISH
HotDish is both a collaborative of djs (Nate Laurence & J. Matthews) and a Minneapolis-based event crew. HotDish values the diversity of EDM in the Midwest, yet it is our aim to provide a space for - above all else - funky, new-school, and soulful house music in the Twin Cities. HotDish (hosts of the best funky-house parties in the Twin Cities since 2006) showcases talent that is pioneering and unifying - both local and international icons of this genre.

HotDish (1ST SATURDAYS @ BLACK) occurs EVERY FIRST SATURDAY of the month at the infamous First Avenue Record Room. The HotDish Mission: to provide a venue for the HotDish sound while fostering the local scene in a spirit of collaboration and unity. Guiding principles make us aware of malicious social structures so we encourage both diversity and philanthropy. We reach out to foster the underground EDM and hip-hop cultures of the Twin Cities to preserve who we are.
FRANKIE J (Chicago)
Frankie J is more than just a DJ. Frankie J is a leading Record Label owner in the Chicago Underground House Music community, he is a producer and remixer, and also runs a very popular radio show on Chicago House FM which is also synicated over the air internationally. He is also part of The Sound Republic and have various monikers and collaborations. His style of music is sure to set off the dancing feet and happy vibes of the Twin Cities Funky House Music Movement. Last time we had him here, the show was awesome and everyone had a jolly good time.
