Loud + Clear presents BLACK
$5.00 crossover
BLACK
Every Saturday in The Record Room
Saturday nights in the Record Room are thudding with the sounds of the underground while an eclectic mix of party-goers gather downstairs for Too Much Love. The music upstairs - a fervent big brother to the sounds below - is hosted by techno heads Particle People, techno/house dynamos Loud + Clear, and funky house doctors HotDish. These three crews work collectively to institute a dance-culture favorite in Minneapolis - fittingly dubbed BLACK (if you've been in the Record Room, you know why).
FORTUNE
Born and raised in England, Jessica Fenner (Fortune) grew up in a family that loved to throw parties with live music, plenty of wine, hours of dancing and 200 or so incredibly happy people - the foundation of a passion for musical events! Her childhood was spent largely in Bristol, where innovative music acts such as Massive Attack, Morcheeba, Portishead and Roni Size were also coming of age. Classically trained in flute, piano and tenor saxophone, she became hooked on electronic music during the eruption of rave culture in the late 80s and early 90s.
NANCY CHENG
Nancy began her life as a DJ in Los Angeles, California where she stirred up the crowds with her own dark and sexy taste for underground house music. After a few years playing in and around southern California, opening for acts such as Miss Kittin and Electric Indigo, Nancy decided it was time to expand her horizons. She then relocated to Taipei, Taiwan before returning to the US & settling in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
TANYA NORMAN
Complicit is an exploration of modern techno and an experiment in musical partnership for contributing members Tanya and Travis Norman. Longtime enthusiastic supporters of Minneapolis talent, the duo was looking for a way to translate that inspiration into a statement of their own. They found it by crafting a production and performance workflow running identical controllers manipulating a single system.
APRIL O'NEIL
April (Minneapolis, MN) may be a little newer to some but she's been rocking it for years now. She throws down the best in hard techno and is one of those DJs that we believe could go far.
