BROKEN SPINDLES

Joel Petersen of Omaha, Nebraska. Joel also plays bass and guitar in The Faint and at one time played bass in Beep Beep. The music of Broken Spindles ranges from instrumental electronic, sparse piano pieces to rocking riffage pop songs.

Broken Spindles originally started in 2001 as the soundtrack for a friend's film. It developed into a solo project with the first release in 2002 on Tiger Style Records. In between touring with The Faint and Beep Beep, Petersen found time to write music for Broken Spindles.

The song, "Song No Song," from Fulfilled/Complete was used in a car commercial for Lexus.

Special Guests / Opening Acts:

SLAPPING PURSES

Dance party eccrine and experimental noise abrasion may seem like distinct corners of the musical universe, but those with their nose in the Twin Cities underground know the explosive potential when the 'tween do meet. Like a methed-out Afrikaa Bambaataa scratching your itch for brain scrambling distortion, Slapping Purses is this nexus. Kick drum whumps, bass boom throbbing, garbled bombardments of sharp noise, and the most sinister command of breaks, breaks, breaks, since Marley Marl and Co.
