Freshly Dipped Tour featuring HIEROGLYPHICS (SOULS OF MISCHIEF, PEP LOVE & CASUAL)
BLUE SCHOLARS
Filmmakers create movies. Bloggers report the news and shape public opinion. Explorers travel the globe, seeking out new cultures and sharing experiences. DJs and producers craft beats and tracks using an alchemical mix of audio artifacts and imagination. Rappers fashion rhymes and navigate the cadences of vocal delivery characterized as “flow.” Blue Scholars do all these things—and a hell of a lot more—every damn day. First and foremost, DJ/producer Sabzi and MC Geologic are a music group. They do the fundamental things bands have done for decades: Make records and play live shows.
KNOBODY
Born and bred in Oakland, CA, Bay Area rapper Knobody jump-started his career after affiliating with the long-running underground hip-hop collective Hieroglyphics and their label, Hiero Imperium. Knobody first began putting out music when he was 16 years old. He sold his self-pressed material, mainly six- to eight-song EPs, in Oakland at very cheap prices in order to get exposure far and wide. In 2006, Hieroglyphics member and label A&R man Casual went to see Knobody in action at a local show after he was persuaded by a mutual contact.
MUSAB
Musab has a way of telling tragedy without bloodshed, guns or drugs - his lyrics somehow are more thrilling and dramatic than these typical gangster rap subjects. His songs tell another side to the American ghetto, that of the black American pimp. A modern day, real life pimp, he puts his own twist on the pimp game and translates it into the rap game. Often glamorized in pop culture and rap music videos as a plush lifestyle, Sab will be the first to say that's a big misconception.
