Brazilian band CSS will release their new album La Liberación on August 29. Previously signed to Sub Pop out of the US, the band have released two successful and critically acclaimed albums Cansei de Ser Sexy in 2006, and Donkey in 2008. CSS’ third opus has been recorded in the band’s own studio in Sao Paulo, Brazil and features collaborations with Bobby Gillespie and Ratatat. Lovefoxxx, singer for the band, says “my mantra for this record is ‘Rip Shit’ and that is what we do on La Liberación.” Formed in 2003 in São Paulo by a group of friends with an unquenchable thirst for good times and indulgence in all things pop and art, CSS (Cansei de ser Sexy, "Tired of Being Sexy" - something Beyonce Knowles once said she was) rose to notoriety with the help of a thriving creative community, underground club scene and a little thing called the internet. Pulling together their numerous talents, the band drew legions of international followers entranced by a universally accessible, albeit original and off the wall, look and style.

We are a musical wrecking ball with a giant cupcake attached to the end of the chain. We are a tea party with your whole pre-school class dressed in purple sweatpants and turtlenecks. We are a foreign film without subtitles. We are the two-week high school beard that should be shaved off but you gotta just give it time to grow! We are sexual dynamite.
