Celebrating 15 Years of Independent Music

Special Guests / Opening Acts:

LOW

Low. A band from Duluth, Minnesota, formed in 1993. Featuring Alan Sparhawk on vocals and guitar and Mimi Parker on vocals and drums and Matt Livingston on bass and vocals. Sparhawk and Parker are married with two children; they first met in fourth grade in rural Minnesota. Livingston, the latest addition to the band, replaced longtime bassist Zak Sally who previously replaced original bassist John Nichols.

DOSH

There he was, this musically lucked child of a once-priest and a near-nun, 12 years old and piled high with a Radio Shack combo stereo, stacks of records, and pockets full of dubbed tapes. It was 1984 and Martin Dosh was orchestrating the soundtracks to his junior high school dances, playing only the choice cuts for the budding romantics and perspiring wallflowers: Run DMC, Prince, Devo, the Cars, New Order...

SIMS

Restless and passionate but with an unflinching realism at his core, Sims has seen enough of life to know there are no easy answers. His second full-length release, Bad Time Zoo, released February 15, 2011 on Doomtree Records, reflects this rapper’s ongoing quest for solid understanding in a society on the brink of dystopia. For Sims, it’s been a long road. Andrew Sims grew up in the working-class Minneapolis suburb of Hopkins, Minnesota. His parents were both musicians with problems of their own, and Sims often had to look out for himself and his younger brother.

VAMPIRE HANDS

Vampire Hands is from the Twin Cities and began playing in 2006. The band has been writing songs at a furious pace and are constantly outdoing themselves with each release. It was only Fall 2007 that Vampire Hands released their first full album, Virgin Dust American Lips. This followed two excellent self-released EPs that were later released together on vinyl. Me & You Cherry Red followed in 2008 on 12" vinyl with modern Radio and the band self-released the CD version.
