Help for Haiti!

In the beginning of February there's two great opportunities to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. I can't even begin to describe the complete devastation the country has faced and I'm sure you're already well aware of it. But this is where we all need to step up and do what we can.

First up City Pages, 89.3 The Current, Gimme Noise, Radio K, and First Avenue present Gimme Shelter on Saturday, February 6th. Check the listing below to see all of the stellar local bands playing. Net proceeds from this event will go to the American Red Cross and Archeticture for Humanity.

Then the following Tuesday, February 9th the local powerhouse Rhymesayers crew will be presenting A Benefit for Haiti with all of your favorite hip hop acts and hosted by Slug of Atmosphere. All proceeds going to Oxfam America, Doctors Without Borders, and Yele Haiti, a foundation started by Grammy-Award winning musician and social entrepreneur Wyclef Jean.

As Brother Ali puts it, "This is one if the greatest tragedies of our lifetime. It's time for all of us to help the people and families who are suffering." Both of these nights are going to really special and, as cheesy as this may sound, when we all come together we truly can make an impact. So please come enjoy some amazing live music and help a nation in dire need.
