Recently we held a Private Event featuring Sammy Hagar here at First Avenue. Some people made comments on our forum and other forums saying that First Avenue hosting parties during the RNC was somehow wrong. We don't understand this. First of all, we rented to promoters who booked said parties. Second, we here at First Avenue are completely nonpartisan. We like to think that we cater to everyone out there, be it Republican, Democrat, Independent, Libertarian, country music fan, rocker, metal head, jam band lover, shoe gazer, salsa dancer, vegan, carnivore, gay, straight, Packer Fan, Vikings Fan... our motto has always been "everyone is accepted here". We don't see labels or positions, we see human beings. Just because one person doesn't agree with another person doesn't mean we won't do business with them here at First Avenue.
See you all soon.
Our Mission Statement:
First Avenue will provide a unique and innovative cultural environment. Our musical vision will not be limited by fashion, fortune or fame.
First Avenue welcomes people of any age, race, sex, or sexual orientation. We strive to bring together people with diverse interests and backgrounds.
As the longest continual entertainment and music venue in the Twin Cities, First Avenues roots in the community are deep and far-reaching. We will work to strengthen these ties and connect with the next generation of music fans.

White Power Tuesdays...whatever. It's the cash that matters right?
Besides First Ave. and the RNC both agree on a lot of employee issues like health care, minimum wage and union busting.
