First Avenue is ending our contract with Ticketmaster. Pleased to announce new partnership with Etix!
On March 31st 2011, First Avenue ended its contract with Ticketmaster.
We are excited to announce a new partnership with ticketing provider Etix.
Beginning Friday, April 1st, tickets for all First Avenue shows will be available online at www.first-avenue.com and www.etix.com, or by phone 1-800-514-3849. Tickets will also still be available at our local ticket vendors. For a full list of these outlets, visit www.first-avenue.com/buy/ticket-outlets.
First Avenue is pleased to be working with a ticketing provider better suited for both our customers and internal operations. First Avenue General Manager Nate Kranz says, “After reviewing our options, we chose Etix because it offers streamlined purchasing as well as significantly lower service fees. We’re confident people looking to buy First Avenue tickets will see a major change in both their wallets and ticket buying experience.” Depending on the ticket, customers can expect a 20-40% lower price per ticket than previously with Ticketmaster. Etix also offers social media integration where First Avenue tickets can be purchased directly from our Facebook page.
The international web-based ticketing service provider is also excited about the new partnership. Etix CEO Travis Janovich says, “First Avenue is one of the oldest and most esteemed venues in the country. We’re honored to be ticketing such a legendary club. We forge deep, long-term relationships with our clients, and we look forward to ushering First Avenue into another 40+ years of world-class live music.”
Until the transition on April 1st, First Avenue tickets will still be available at our website as well as our current ticketing providers.
Tickets purchased from Ticketmaster before April 1st will still be valid for admission to their corresponding events.

Lower Fees?
I was really excited when I first heard that you were shedding ticketmaster. Then I used your new service.
I just bought 2 tickets to Death Cab... each with a $8.25 convenience fee.
So much for "significantly lower service fees" from etix. This seems to be the exact same jam job we got from ticketmaster. How is this an improvement for the fan?
