In a beautiful alignment of the indie stars, First Avenue's Mainroom will be graced with the presence of two well-loved, influential acts this Saturday, June 26. Berkeley-based WHY? creates a nearly indescribable fusion of hip hop and indie pop, held together by complex and cryptic lyrics. They'll be joined by San Fransisco experimental quartet Deerhoof, who have a knack for making noisy, multi-genre songs that feature both English and Japanese lyrics. Ohio folk rockers Southeast Engine will be opening.
To get pumped up for this monumental lineup, check out these one-part bizarre, two-parts awesome videos from WHY? and Deerhoof.
